Harmoni named as preferred provider
Harmoni is delighted to announce that the NHS Suffolk Board has approved the recommendations of an assessment panel – made up of patient representatives, clinicians and specialist healthcare commissioners – and has named Harmoni as the preferred provider for the new out of hours GP and dental contract. The current contracts are due to expire on March 31st 2010, and the newly commissioned service will go live on April 1st 2010.
New service
The NHS Suffolk Out of Hours (OOH) Service will be 100% locally managed and delivered, supported by the wider business infrastructure of the Harmoni organisation. It is anticipated that the majority of GPs working in the service will be attached to local practices. The NHS Suffolk OOH Service will operate between 6:30pm and 8:00am Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and bank holidays.
Working for the service
Harmoni will be looking to recruit both local clinicians and non-clinicians to work in the new service over the coming weeks. Advertisements will appear in local and professional publications.
